(Draught at Bryggeriet Apollo, Copenhagen, 26 March 2008) Golden amber colour with frothy, white head. Unfiltered and slightly hazy. Malty, rather citric nose with tropical fruit. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of tropical fruit and some strange sourish hints. Decent bitternes in the finish. A bit unclean, but decent danish pilsener.

From tap at the brewpub, as Golden Swan - 5.6%. Pours hazy orange to light brown with a dense white head. Spiced aroma, mild caramel malt beneath. Flavour is floral, mild caramel malt and with a distinct spice note on top. Bitter to dry finish. Different and special.

Hazy amber color, with their classic creamy head. It has a light aroma of bread, malt, hop. Medium body, with a wrong mix of flavors, sugar, harsh bitterness, almost a trace of liquorice. Nah.

Hazy copper beer with a creamy white head. Malt is very strong in the aroma, with some grassy hops. Sweet malty flavour with a lot of hoppy bitterness. A light sugar sweetness shows up halfway, and it finishes with a lingering rich (munich) malt.

(On tap) Opaque orangey brown with a fine, creamy, beige head. Aroma is distinct, sweet licorice and a little roasted malt. Medium body, a little low in carbonation with sweet notes of roasted malt and burned caramel - almost like a Danish table beer. And then again loads of licorice. The finish is fairly dry although the bitterness is discreet. Not bad. 030308

RB DK #1100: From tap at the brewpub, 5.9% as Apollo Lakrids Bryg. Pours dark brown with a little dense brown head. Thick dry liqourice nose. Light body. Flavour is somewhat thinner first than expected but the liqourice builds up to a quite solid dry finish. Lingering liqourice, light acidity and mild bitterness in the finish. Somewhat simple, but I’m a sucker for liqourice in beer.5-3-7-3-13=3.1

Draught at the brewpub Sct. Clemens, Århus, 7.1% ABV
Dark brown color; big creamy head. It has a very nice caramel aroma, perfumy, raising expectations. Unfortunately the mouthfeel is medium strong and there are not much sugars left; and the flavor is based on a very dark caramel, with too much black malt too, something that is not on top of my preferences. At the end it gets a bit smoother and warming. Not bad, even if not the kind of beer that I like.
