From a 500ml bottle on 23/7/2013. Pours a a clear dark amber with a big head. Has a decent, if relatively subdued aroma of chocolate and caramel, some fridge-like notes. There’s more chocolate and caramel in the flavour, along with a touch of cola and some woodiness. Finishes with a quite pronounced dry, roasty bitterness. The texture is a touch thin and the carbonation medium. This is a bit of a mixed bag, but enjoyable enough.

330ml bottle. Dark brown colour with average, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, beige head. Dark malty aroma, a touch of roast and grass, hints of chocolate. Taste is minimally sweet dark malty, a touch of milk chocolate and cappuccino, minimally roasty and bitter hoppy finish.

330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, frothy, diminishing, white head. Slightly artificial fruity aroma has a lime note, hints of orange, an indication of soap. Taste is dry with a dash of lemon, some lime, hints of orange zest, a minimally soapy touch of cilantro or so. Light body, easy drinkable, refreshing, but on the outskirts of the beer region.

(Bottle) Hazy golden amber with decent whitish head. Aroma has biscuit and peppery spice. Nice palate; medium bodied with mouth filling soft carbonation. Taste is biscuity malt with some peppery notes and a steadily developing, rather harsh, bitterness that leaves a quite unpleasant aftertaste. Oval, rather disappointing, but quite drinkable.

(Bottle) Clear, extremely pale straw colors, with a decent white head that was short lived, but transformed into a long lasting thin white head. Aroma is ginger beer, of the higher quality non-alcoholic type - nothing sweet, just ginger, and maybe a tiny hint of peppery spice. Palate is pleasant enough with bright carbonation and a somewhat syrupy feel. Taste is pleasant and interesting - it is almost entirely ginger, but the taste profile Cannes quite markedly. It starts pleasantly tart, then a decent ginger taste and bite builds up, which subsides into an over-sweet syrupy flavour, which to me does not seem to be malt, which then gives way to a vaguely bready and slightly gingery finish. Overall a reasonable ginger beer, a little over sweet towards then end, but more restrained than many alcopop ginger beers.

From a 500ml bottle on 19/5/2013. Pours a clear light golden with a medium head. Smells more like a pale lager than an IPA, with just a slight grainy malt aroma. The flavour is most pedestrian for the style - I’d struggle to pick this as an APA, let alone an IPA. There’s a modest fruitiness to it, with some bready malt in the background, with a mild bitterness finishing things off. The body and carbonation are medium. The 35 IBUs advertised on the bottle provide a good hint that this will be an underwhelming experience, and it is. A very poor IPA.

(Bottle) Hazy yellow amber with reasonable white head. Nice fresh apricot aroma with some slightly odd cheese hints. Lovely palate with smooth mouthfilling carbonation. Well balanced taste with prominent, but not dominant, fresh tangy apricot overlaid on citrus, light malt and hints of esters and spice. The complexity dies away leaving the fruity tang with a developing subtle hop bitterness. A very good fruit beer with no cloying sweetness and the fruit nicely balanced with the beer.
