Draft at ’T Hoogt. Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, licorice, caramel, toffee and malt. Flavour is over moderate sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap at PINT Bokbierfestival 2015. Clear, dark brownish amber with a big, creamy, tan head. Sweetish-malty, smoky aroma of smoked ham, campfire, brown sugar and caramel. Sweetish, smoky-malty taste of smoked ham, campfire and brown sugar, followed by a short, slightly bitter and smoky finish with notes of coffee. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good!

330ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges. Ash, beech, ham and dried fruit in the aroma. Smoky, fruity and moderately hoppy taste with beech, raisins, ash, caramel and some faint soapy notes.

Very sweet, maybe too much. Some wood, tiny bit smoke, but everything is overpowered by the sweetness. Not good enough.

3.9.2015 Bottle by my Secret Santa MrHangover. Thanks! Aroma raisins, dried fruits, caramel. Clear brown colour. Taste has got quite intense alcohol right from beginning. Then there is smoked ham and caramels.not bad but simply too much alcohol, it ruins the drinkability for me as well. 6 4 6 3 12 - 3.1 Rerate - Bottle at a tasting with buddies Cuso, Rubin77, Wendigo. Alcohol only very lightly present, complementary intensity. Rather high sweetness, but overall balance is good with okay drinkability. Moderate smoke presence, lightly solventy too, which I associate rather with the smoke though. Quite good one.

Bottle kindly shared by Gurthnar, many thanks. Chestnut brown color with small white head. Dark malt, wood, alcohol in aroma. Dark malt, brandy, caramel, alcohol, lot of alcohol in taste. Very good.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Duits & Lauret TeVreden MMXIII ].Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, sweet malt, smoke, meat - butterscotch. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, dark malt, smoked, meat, sweet meat - smoke. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150619]

33cl Bottle. Had this a while back, thought I still had a big bottle, but that turns out to be the XII. Dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, some coffee, roasted malts. Flavour is sweet, pumpernickel, dark fruits, quite watery and very light overall. Light bodied. Meh.
