Clear orange-gold pour with a medium thin white head that recedes gradually to a film. Sticky strings of lace on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, fruit, honey and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, toasty malt and subtle floral honey. The finish is mildly bitter with a floral and hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bomber on the Amtrack Surfliner on 8th February 2022. Poured into a plastic cup (twice) and drank while looking at the South Californian beaches and surf. Amber body, clean and clear, the head a beige affair. Easy drinking brew with a pleasant malty front and a hoppy rear. I like El Dorado hops!

On tap at Cold Spring Tavern - an old stagecoach stop from 1868 in the middle of no where. The venue certainly added some points to this, and it was nice and refreshing in the heat.

2013 bottle. Pretty much an opaque dark brown beer, good bubbly tan head. Airy palate, a very mild dryness, decent fine carbonation. A modest amount of mildly tangy and fruity dark chocolate. Bourbon is very much front and centre. It's soft but obvious and brings a mild spice and certainly leaves some warmth on the swallow. I had to check the abv of this beer three times. 7%?! Fuck me, if you had told me 14%, I would have believed you. Another thing that belies it's abv is how robust it tastes after 7 years. Fresh as a daisy and any oxidisation is distant worry. Impressively robust for its 7%, other than that, it is a tidy BBA stout that stands shoulder to shoulder with much stronger competition.

2014 bottle @ ZZTX. Almost black and opague. Roast and a hint of ash in the aroma. Roasty bitter flavor with a limited sweetness. Malty alcoholic. Vanilla. Nice!
