Description
Stroud Brewery was established in 2006 by Greg Pilley and his wife Jade. The business has grown steadily and now employs over 20 people. We recently constructed a brand new building purpose built for our growing needs. It provides more space for the brewery, allowing an increase in our production capacity, a larger office and a canal-side tap with beautiful views of the Golden Valley.
We have created a range of organic beers that we are really proud of, because they taste great and their production supports the local farmers and the ecosystems they manage. The standards we must adhere to for organic certification support our ambition to be a business that cares for people and planet.

500ml bottle: obtained from a Wye Vale Garden Centre and poured into an โOld Speckled Henโ badged pint vase on 1st Feb 2015. Good looking brew, clean and clear amber body the head being a cream coloured affair. Malts lead the way with semi-sweet toffee and caramel evident in both the aromas and taste. Hints of nuts and dark fruits in the flavour which helped to stop the sweetness running away with the brew. All in all, not bad at all.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Colour of weak tea. Halo of dirty white bubbles. Looks ropey. Slightly astringent fruitiness. Light, toffee malts. Taste is sweet, but slightly tart. Syrupy palate. Manages to finish sweet, then dry, and light tart. Hard work.

500ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Roasty, minimally chocolately, dark malty aroma, a cautious touch of red berries. Taste is roasty dark malty, watery hints of chocolate, treacle and tar, increasing dark and caramel malty sweetness, almost toffee-like.

50cl Bottle from Biolicious. Hazy deep chestnut colour, reddish beige head. Aroma of sweet toffee, dark fruits, malts, raisins, sweet nuts, hint of roast. Flavour is less sweet than expected, toffee, raisin, dark fruits, caramel, confit fruit, hops, nice bitter finish. Slick, almost medium bodied. Good.
