Bottled. Deep copper with a moderate head. Buttery, almost kellerbier-like aroma, with a whiff of vanilla oak. Flavour was of toffee, with lots of alcohol in the finish. Good.

While this smells quite nice (vanilla smokey) and has an interesting flavour(sweet vanilla, and fruity) to start with i found it really quite clawing by the end and struggled to finnish it.

Pours tea-colored into a shaker. Bright white conglomerate head with excellent retention. Vanilla and whiskey aromas. Smooth with whiskey front to back. Different palate - somewhere between soft and crisp. Lasting oak, caramel, vanilla and hops finish. Slight alcohol burn.

Bottle from Sainsbury. Deep chestnut colour with thin off white head. More toffeeish that the regular version, buttery. Not a huge whisky presence or indeed wood flavour. A lot of greasy melted butter. No huge aroma. Again not impressed. OK, but what is it?

Bottle. Vintage 2006. Pours a clear golden color with a think longlasting white head. Fruity and slightly tasrt aroma with some hints of wood. Sweet malty slightly fruity flavor with hints of vanilla and caramel. Also some hints of wood. Sweet malty finish with hints of vanilla and bitterness in the aftertaste.

330ml bottle from Waitrose - 2006 edition. A clear honey gold colour with a thick white head and heavy carbonation; aroma has oak, vanilla and peach; tart body with an acid vanilla creaminess; dry whisky finish.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep brown color ale with a small bubbly head that disappeared quickly. Aroma of light oak and whisky is quite strong and dominant. Taste is dominated by the bourbon with some small traces of peat malt and oak. Body is kind of light for the style with some low carbonation. While this is an interesting experience from a UK brewer, the whisky is too dominating and since I’m not a big fan of whisky I can’t say that I will be seeking this again in the future.

[bottle] Golden coloured with a large frothy head. Aroma is sweet with nots of vanilla and chocolate. Smells a lot like Canadian whisky. Flavour is more Canadian whisky with a long grassy bitterness added.

(33 cl bottle from Systembolaget) 2006 vintage. Clear deep golden to copper color, huge white head. Lots of dry oak, vanilla and some red wine in the scent. Malt and sweets mixed with a dry oak palate. Dry mouthfeel, rather high mouth puckering bitterness. For me it feels the oak overtakes the beer at a far too high degree. Some marzipan and almonds in there also.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear, warm amber with a creamy, off-white head leaving some lacework. Aroma is pure whisky. Medium body with lightly sweet malt and caramel. Otherwise pleasant notes of wood and whisky with a dry and alcoholic finish. 180107
