(Bottle 33 cl) Vintage 2006. Pours a clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Great aroma of oak. Medium body with lightly sweet caramel and distinct wooden, oaky accents. A light bitterness in the finish. Right up my alley. 151206

Bottle, Clear copper coloured beer with a thin off-white head. some hops, malt and caramel or toffee? in what is quite a musty aroma. Taste not really my thing, yes the woodiness is present, but taste is quite dry and also a litte too sweet with some malt and bitterness backing up it improves slightly.

330ml bottle from Waitrose, 2006 limited edition version in a box. Deep chestnut with thin beige head. Some spicy smokey hop. Some sweet malt and also candy sugar. Bit of smoke. Candy sugarish in mouth. Then alright spicey hop on end. Even a bit of cinnamon. Not as woody as I remember the original version. Some smoke. Alright in mouth. Quite full, if it is boiled sweet. Fine and not as bad/good as I feared/hoped.

330ml bottle brought back to Norway from Sainsburys, St Albans. Unusual beer in form and content. Blank bottle in brown packing. Pours a dense, frothy white head with nice "Kirchenfenster". Amber coloured body with great clarity. Zesty oak aroma mix with undertones of sweet chocolate. Flavour is dominated by woody oak and a discreet whisky-like texture. Dry fruits, spicy hops, malt and biscuit are also present in this complex brew. Both aroma and flavour have a light smoky or peaty character. Good mouthfeel, but not quite my kind an IPA, yet. Maybe next time... (03.11.2006).

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor, average finish. Oily palate.

Bottle, Sainsburys, Kidlington. Warm golden colour, hoppy fruity aroma, very refreshing taste nice and crisp with a good bite and some fruity slightly citric flavours, very interesting in flavour actually a bit hoppy, alcohol is well masked.

Amber beer with fluffy white head. Caramel toffee aroma with hints of butter, lemon, vanilla. Quite sweet with a complex wood, caramel, honey flavour.

Bottle 0,33l. Golden brown. A creamy lasting head leaving patterns on the glass. Some burntness in the aroma. A soft sweet flavour. You have a whisky feeling in the aftertaste. No bitterness. More peculiar than good.

Red/brown amber beer with a froathy white head. Deep rich smoked aroma with a hint of spice. Sweet honey malt taste with smooth tangy enjoying finish.

Clear straw color, with minimal but lasting head - very oaky, vanilla aroma, with touches of whiskey, buttered toast - very distinctive oak and whiskey character in the flavor, but not an overwhelming one like in a lot of beers aged in barrels - somewhat bready but overly sweet - honey and spice in the finish - it’s a shame they filter and pasturize this; it would probably be a hell of a lot better if they didn’t.
