Keg on tap in London. Tried both versions. Hazy amber color with smooth head. Drinkable, a bit watery, not much of a flavor. I’d prefer it to industrial lagers.

Not for this brew, For the John Smith's Coronation brew, long retired, and I didn't feel the need to add a retired brew to the data base.

Can at Birmingham airport lounge while waiting for my delayed flight to Amsterdam! Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is stale malt with some hoppy notes. The flavour is medium bitter with a watery metallic palate. Medium to light bodied with lively carbonation. I used to like this beer many years back but now it’s just a fizzy bitter.

30th Nov 13 sees me at a ’Leaving Party’ in a local social club: I volunteered to do the food. So there I was dressed as Elvis cooking Pizza’s in a hot kitchen for 100 other guests and my only avenue of coolness was to drink pint after pint of this nitro-keg brew. Too be fair it did the trick, I stayed sober and it quenched my thirst. Pours a good looking: deep old gold/reddy amber body with a full foaming crown. Not a lot of smell, it comes too cold for any aromas to live. Once it begins to warm a little you can smell a mild maltiness. The taste is a smooth semi-sweet malt like flavour with a mini hop bitterness underneath. It’s OK and I can see why it’s so popular with some.

Can at social event. Pours clear copper with a thick, widget-induced head. Smells of not a great deal, faint malt, no hops. Taste has some toffee sweetness, and the merest touch of bitterness. Is what it is.

Can from some supermarket. Pours a fountain of nitrogenated fluff with some bright red liquid that forms underneath. Aroma of metal, thinnest hint of malt and grassy hop. Taste is watery, but essentially the same. Possibly worth drinking as a relic of awful British beers of the 70s...

On keg at Bridlington FC - Very pretty looking red body, thick creamy white head... and then it goes downhill from there. Nose is metallic and chemical, taste is sour metal, finish leaves a metallic taste in the mouth. Not nice at all.
