Description
De brouwerij Den Toetëlèr – dialect voor vlierstruik – werd opgestart door Luc Festjens, Kurt Meers, Stefaan Huybrechts en Erwin Duts in 2010. Vanaf januari 2011 was de brouwerij operationeel. Oud hout van de vlierstruik is hol en werd vroeger gebruikt om fluitjes of toeters mee te maken, waardoor de struik in de volksmond de naam “toetëlèr” meekreeg. Het is nooit de bedoeling geweest om het bier in opdracht elders te laten brouwen: dit nieuwe Limburgs bier moest in Limburg gebrouwen worden. Om dit standpunt kracht bij te zetten, werd bewust gekozen voor de dialectische naam van de vlierstruik.

Bottle. Clear copper color with white head. Aroma is farty. Taste is farty, straw, vegetables. Taste is cooked vegetables, straw. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Meh.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is phenolic, bananas, booze. Taste is the same. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Meh.

F: medium, dark pink, quick gone. C: very dark red, hazy, opaque. A: sour cherries, red berries, red berries jam, bit chlorine. T: sour cherries, bit chlorine, red berries, bit cheese, very artisanal feeling, but the chlorine like feeling disturb me may be from cleaning product ?, medium body and carbonation, 33cl bottle from ZBF 2018.

F: medium, white, average retention. C: pale gold, light hazy. A: malty, wheat, soapy, coriander, bit spicy, banana, floral, bit yeasty. T: wheat, coriander, soapy, floral, banana, bit spicy, yeasty, thin body, medium carbonation, I like herbal/floral tones here, enjoyed, 33cl bottle from ZBF 2018.

Thank you for sharing RB People! Sampled @ ZBF 2018. Lol at this being 2 tokens. Brown amber, little tanned head. Nose is grainy, plastic, BE sugar, soap. Taste is spoiled banana, sugar, plastic, sugar, soap, same for the body, meh.

Thank you for sharing RB People! Sampled @ ZBF 2018. Golden orange, off-white head. Nose is dull plastic, BE esters, chemical, BE yeast, weeds. Taste is grainy plastic, bland, grain, weeds, herbal,… Poor.

Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2018. A clear deep golden beer. Aroma of toasted malt, mid sweet caramelish malt. Taste of dry caramelish malt, nuts, mild bitter hops.

Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2018. A hazy amber beer with a small white head. Aroma of red fruits, rotten apples, caramel. Taste of sweet caramelish malt, sugar, Red fruits, too sweet.
