Description

At Wieze Bierfestival, 18 March 2018. Deputy Taster: Anke.
Clear dark red with a small, foamy, pinkish head. Aroma of blueberries, wheat, (white) bread, yeast, strawberry and jam. It tastes medium berry-like sweet with light sour tones and light wheaty bitter; sweetish jam finish, a bit wheaty and hoppy. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Not overly sweet like most Fruit Beers, which is good. Just like drinking a 'boke met confituur' (dixit Anke) - a sandwich with jam.

Bottle @ home. Hazy light orange color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste malts, some yeast, a touch of orangepeel, a distant hint of banana, moderate to medium herbal or perhaps it is due to the addition of some spices. While it is often too much, in this case the beer is quite balanced so the herbs / spices actually add something good to the beer instead of ruining it. Initially a bit sweet, but a mild bitter finish. Decent to medium body, a bit oily texture, suitable moderate carbonation. Quite a nice blond.

Bottle @ tasting shared with TomHendriksen and Inoven. Quite beautiful deep dark red color, small pinkish head. Smell and taste remind me of natural cherries, light tart, a sour touch but quite refreshing instead of sharp sour, indeed quite refreshing sourish as the label says. Pretty nice. Well done.
