(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "Catch the cat - Das Energy Bier". Yet another of these creative German "Mischgetränke" - they really will mix anything for you...This is 80% Hefe and 20% capirinha flavoured pop with added taurine and caffeine. Sort of a chemical lab on bottle... Looks hazy golden with a somewhat indefinable sediment. Weird, fruity sweetness. But did I really get a kick out of this? Cool blue swingtop bottle though. 190103

Swing-top bottle: Deep golden coloured, thin fluffy foam, sticking a little bit to the glass; caramel, sweet honey and - mainly- alcohol in the nose; initial sweetish, alcoholic taste; sweet flavour; a littlöe bitterness in the alcoholic, not cloying finish; warming, not very complex, or better: monotonous........................

330 ml swingtop bottle, bought in Germany. Golden colour, fizzy, large head. Fairly strong sweet and alcoholic aroma, notes of molasses and ammonium, hints of oak and fermenting fruits, not very pleasant. Flavour is malty, too alcoholic and sweet, low bitterness. Pale strong lagers rarely make me happy, and this one is no exception to the rule. Still drinkable - I’ve had worse.

Die durchsichtige 0,33l Ploppflasche gefällt sehr und wirkt passend. Der Geruch lässt eher an ein Mischgetränk mit Zitrone denken. Der Antrunk ist getreidig, im Nachgeschmack für ein Goldbier ungewöhnlich herb, ansonsten recht lasch, ein Goldbier eben, aber eins der besseren Sorte. Bottle Clear, blond body. Off-white, frothy head. Nose of hops, yeast, fine malts. Quite good aroma for a pilsener. Lightly bitter initial flavour, moderately bitter finish. A very nice pilsener!!

(swing top bottle) Pale golden colour with a big frothy white head. Grainy malty and hoppy nose. Light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Light sweet malty taste with a medium dry, slightly bitter finish. Better than most other Gold Beers.

(Bottle 33 cl) In 2004 this was a brand new beer from the brewery in Flensburg. The strongest beer I’ve had from this brewery. Perhaps a little surprising this is a light bock. A dark, malty, rich doppelbock might be a more suitable choice for the season. Light amber color with a tall, full head. Very rich and alcoholic, very sweet. Obviously a lot of malt has been used here, and there might be a slight, underlying alcoholic tone. But it’s definitely a beer which is a quality product. Controlled bitterness. 111104

(Bottle 33 cl) Deep orange - almost coppery - with a surprisingly almost absent head. Extremely full-bodied almost oily character with huge fruity notes and an almost toffeeish flavour. A very different Hefe but a pleasant surprise. 080402
