Description
Brash was founded in 2012 by Ben Fullelove, but laws at the time kept him from brewing within city limits. The Brash Brewing Company came to life when he finally decided to move to Ipswich, Massachusetts. The outdated legislation that prevented brewery owners from operating a bar were overturned the next year and in October of 2015, Brash Brewing Company opened its doors.

Shortlived off-white head; hazy ochre-amber beer. Sweet hoppy, rosewater, amandine, but to a very high level. Too perfumed by half. Sweet, almondy, marzipan, with hops, bit cheesy in the finish. Medium bodied, quite slick. Aftertaste has oxydized cookies. Rather Belgian features on the hoppy front, especially in the aftertaste. Not quite to my liking, I’m afraid.

650ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, orangey golden colour with small, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Tropical fruity, hoppy aroma has notes of mango and orange, hints of bitter almond, marzipan, biscuit. Taste is bitter hoppy on biscuity malty basis, notes of bitter almond, marzipan, hints of orange flash up in between; lasting, slightly burning bitter and alcoholic finish, oily texture, soft palate, finepored carbonation. Like other Brash ales, bombastic, pretentious, overdone.

Bottled 650ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Slight hazy orange/golden coloured, small off-white head, caramel and touch of resin in the nose. Sweet malty, grapefruity/fruity hoppy, light caramel and resin with noticable alcohol presence. Also strong bitterness in the finish. All in all good brew but almost 20$ price leads nowhere.

22 oz.Bottle purchased at Julio’s shared by Eric S. Bottle date of 03/15/2013. Color is pitch black with a very oily film when swilled around the snifter. Aroma is mild coffee bean, chocolate and subtle bourbon character.
The flavor is mostly bourbon with the coffee bean almost completely dead at this point. Flavor still has a nice chocolate brownie batter and moderate amount of bourbon barrel. Body is really nice for a porter, the texture is oily like the swirl around the snifter. Very mellow alcohol after the year plus age. No oxidation and the flavor is above average, nice.
