Description
Brash was founded in 2012 by Ben Fullelove, but laws at the time kept him from brewing within city limits. The Brash Brewing Company came to life when he finally decided to move to Ipswich, Massachusetts. The outdated legislation that prevented brewery owners from operating a bar were overturned the next year and in October of 2015, Brash Brewing Company opened its doors.

Bottle courtesy of AirForceHops. Funky citrus, bready honey malt aroma, which developed a pineapple floral note as it warmed. Golden yellow with a large white head. Slightly sweet citrus, funky barnyard, yeasty bready malt flavor, and apricot and floral hops as it warmed. Medium body, moderate carbonation, dry finish.

22 oz. bottle. Color is hazy amber with small bubbles of head. Nose and taste is huge West Coast influence. Whole cone hops, pine with plenty of resin, garlic notes with lots of caramel malts to give it a sweet fruity balance. Candy sugar note for sure. Medium to full in body, oily texture, with a effervescent carbonation. The commercial description is really spot on since after rating it I wrote damn near the same thing. This bottle is a few months old so I would love to see this on draft because it is pretty solid. I would like to re-visit this if I can find on draft in Massachusetts.

22 oz. bottle. Tulip shows a orange gold color with lasting, thick foamy head. Nose is fruity Belgian yeast with a nice dose of floral hops. The yeast starts off the flavor upfront with nice passion fruit, orange pith and grapefruit. The floral earthy hops take over mid-sip and leads to a lightly dry lingering bitterness. It drinks with a lot of bitterness almost like a double IPA with a lot of sweet malts to balance. Highly hopped for the style and it works real well. Very nicely made.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/4/2013. Pours fairly crystal clear orange amber color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big peach, pineapple, tangerine, lemon zest, orange zest, orange rind, floral, grass, pine, honey, bread, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of citrus/tropical hop notes with moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of peach, pineapple, tangerine, lemon zest, orange zest, orange rind, floral, grass, pine, honey, bread, and floral earthiness. Good amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of peach, pineapple, tangerine, lemon zest, orange zest/rind, floral, grass, pine, honey, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of tropical/citrus hop flavors; with a moderate malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a crisp, sticky, and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice DIPA style. All around good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hop flavors with moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle: Poured a bright beige/orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of fruity and citrus hops with light sweet notes. Taste is sweeter than expected with some light fruity notes and some citrus hops also easily noticeable. Body is about average for style and no apparent alcohol. Enjoyable but a bit too sweet for my taste. I would suggest dropping the ABV which would also help drop the residual sugars.
