Description
Something is going on in the old Antwerp harbour.

Two icons, the Hoppenbrouwers family and Felix Pakhuis, forged a band of brothers through their common passion for the proud Belgian beer tradition.

The Hoppenbrouwers family has tons of experience in brewing beer. After all Hoppenbrouwers means brewers of hop beer. Where the Hoppenbrouwers family’s experience lies in brewing beer, Felix Pakhuis’ experience lies in pouring beer and they do that with a grandeur reflecting the Felix Pakhuis building’s splendor and history.

Through both icons’ shared passion for beer, an experimental brewery brewing limited batches of beer in the Felix Pakhuis cellars, was born.

Huge white head, fluffy, lively carbonated yellowish golden beer. Spicy, peppery, dried malts, grassy. Dry, peppery, again bit grassy. Something smokey as cigarette ashes. Dry. Feels well-carbonated, medium to well bodied. Special, very dry ale.

Tap at Prague Beer Fest, 2025, thx! Clear golden body, white head. The aroma has huge pear esters and citric touches, but the taste is much drier, light citric hoppy touches, herbal hoppy bitterness in the finish. Fun little hoppy Belgian!

Nice tasty beer.
Hazed brown pour and a fine tan head.
Ok intensity in the aroma.
Balanced sweetness and a fine carbonation level.
Bready, nutty, fruity and some yeast in the flavor.

Bruin bier met schuim wat snel wegzakt. Smaak is bitterzoet en kruidig met iets van karamel, wat peperkoek en anijs. Uitstekend bier.

Tap at Prague Beer Festival. More applish than I would like, also phenols which are kinda over the top. Not exactly the cleanest of beers, average.

Tap at Prague Beer Fest 2024. Brown body, off-white head. Dark malt notes, caramelly, in the aroma, bit yeasty, some rakija-like alcohol. Lean, sweet taste, malty, bit creamy, but still some rough alcohol as well. Eh. Still, lovely to try a beer from this brewer!
