almost black colour, moderate sized beige-ish brown head, which disappears quickly leaving bang some ecru lacing; aroma of prune, dried sour cherry or rather canned sour cherry, dark chocolate; some ash/burnt woody and over-roasted sunflower seeds notes; taste is exactly the same with roasted coffee notes; good one

Lot #19, @home poured into a shaker. Opaque orange amber colour, fair frothy off-white head, dissipating slowly, good lacing. Fruity aroma, sweet malt, peach, orange marmalade, hint caramel, floral hops. Fruity taste, medium sweet and light bitter, malty, peach, orange, toffee, metallic notes. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, juicy sweetbitter aftertaste, bit grainy, light herbal touch, very tasty, good.

One of four organic beers made by a new microbrewery in Lesdain near Brunehaut (Belgium), installed in what was formerly a farm, since the summer of 2020. Light gusher, but with very careful opening, you should be able to reduce the loss to a minimum. Thick and foamy, crackling, egg-white, membrane-lacing, uneven-bubbled, mousy, slowly opening but generally very stable head on a cloudy amberish orange blonde beer. Aroma of orange candy and Sicilian orange cake, soapy coriander, dry biscuits, a whiff of iron becoming stronger when warming up, mandarin, red apple, honey waffles, dried peaches, hints of thyme, petrichor, dry tree leaves, glazed carrots, clove, pear juice, very faint minty accent, touch damp earth in the end. Rather sweet, estery onset, juicy orange or mandarin touch mixed with freshly cut red apple, ripe pear and vague pineapple, lively carbonation (a tad stingy - and quite minerally), rounded body; smooth dry-biscuity and soggy-peanutty malts with a layer of honeyish residual sweetness on top, carrying a relatively bright fruitiness onwards to a gentle finish where some soapy coriander seed pops up, adding a spicy touch alongside spicy phenolic effects (clove, but mildly so) and a floral hop bitterness, stretching out over the root of the tongue in a soft way, but enough to provide some counterweight to the initial orangey and apple-ish sweetness. Bready yeast effects linger, as well as traces of the honeyish and fruity effects; the metallic side effect I was expecting to arrive upon sniffing the beer, shows up in the end, in a very 'ferrous' way, though not to the point where I find it distasteful or annoying. Artisanal Walloon 'ambrée', a style somewhat stronger and yeastier than the typical Belgian amber ale (or 'speciale belge'); in this specific segment, far from a bad one, accessible and quite correctly made without any obvious flaws. If this indeed comes from a microbrewery run by a young team for only eight months now, then they have no reasons to complain - time to up the ante and brew some more ambitious beer styles than the ones the Belgian (or indeed Walloon) audience is already used to way too much. --- Beer merged from original tick of Grand Mir Ambrée on 12 Feb 2021 at 23:56 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Bouteille 33cl, achetée au marché de Flagey. BB 01/2022 Lot #12.
