Sample at the DBLDP on 09/03/2017. Hazy amber color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of yeast, dark fruit, oak and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, earthy yeast, brandy and sweet fruit. The finish is fruity with a brandy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle: Pours black with a dark tan head. Chocolate, molasses, hay scent. Taste is slightly tangy/lactic.....chocolate malt, earthy/woody caramel malt. Drinks pretty lightly for the ABV. Pretty good.

Bottle: Hazy golden-yellow, with a chunky, off-white head. Orange-peel, grapefruit-peel, lemon.....old musty citrus scent. Taste is bitter....lime, citrus-peels, grain malt. Almost a sour, unpleasant bittering....Maybe I got a bad bottle....just seemed off.....sad to say, it wasn’t much to my liking.

Bottle. Orange, lime, caramel malt, pine, and orange peel aroma - fruity and nice. Hazy golden yellow with large eggshell white head. Moderately sweet orange, lime, caramel malt, and moderately bitter lime peel/pine flavor. Body a bit heavy for an IPA.

Bottle. Milk coffee, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter hay aroma. Dark brown with small head. Mildly sweet light coffee, dark chocolate malt, and mildly bitter oak/dry hay flavor. Body on the light side - strength well hidden. Pretty light for an Impy stout but pleasant.

12 oz green can. Somewhat rude dull IPA nose. Rocky alabaster head. Taste is strong pointed IPA piercings. Whew, terribly on style nasty mah fah. Barely over 6%, this tastes like 8%. Stronger mouth coating medicinal blunt IPA with a perfumy edge. Bursting floral resin. Not sure if I can handle this viscous brew. I really think this stuff is penetrating the double impy IPA territory. Whew. I don’t like IPA and this stuff is a good reason why I don’t. Except for the mild flowery nose and its effects on the palate, this stuff is some of the nastier IPA around, so I guess that you will like it. GO FOR IT & ignore my numbers, heheheh. This lager lover is not impressed with the attitude of these IPA.

Can from Val-U. Pours a murky copper with a finger of foam that dissipates quickly. Stale caramel, old malt and honey. Overripe orange with more caramel. Light and very low carbonation. Where is the citra? --- Beer merged from original tick of Moerlein Pacer on 25 Apr 2017 at 22:02 - Score: 5. Original review text: Stale caramel, old malt and honey.
