Hypha Project
Contract Brewer in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦
Over time, the group all went in various directions, a few ultimately started local breweries, others just continued to practice drinking beer. This project reunites three of us from those days and we want to access that community feeling again but bigger this time. We love well made beer and art that doesn't take itself too seriously, so that's what this is about, those two things and the people who feel connected to them.

On tap at The Magnet, pours a clear golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has gentle grassy and herbal notes, with a moderately dry bready and crackery malt. Flavour has plenty of grassiness, cereal malts, and bready malt. Clean and drinkable. Solid.

Pale and with a slight haze. Thin head. Yeasty, pale malt nose, hops are gently herbaceous. Malts are a touch gloppy though.

Poured from the tap. Clear blonde gold with small white head. Grain malt with very feint citrus and berry hops. Ultimately, it comes off as a fairly generic lager, but if the hops were ramped up, they do offer a fairly unique character. Overall disappointed, had some hope for Hypha doing something interesting.

Poured from 473mL can (no date stamp). Hazy blonde gold with white head. Bright and citrusy, feint hop burn, but quite enjoyable.

Can. Hazy dullish yellow. Bubbly head. Bright and orange hop aroma. Moderate bitterness, lots of sweet orangey goodness. Juicy. Sweet pale malt base is almost sugary.

Nice initial hops aroma. Passion fruit and tangerine. Murky yellow pour with good head retention. Light hop tang in the finish but pretty clean. Some lemon. Great for style. Tap.

Amber. Slight haze, bubbly head. Toasty aroma with some inappropriate phenols…light nail polish and a touch of that burnt electric wire. Don’t go farmhouse for shits and giggles, please.

2022 batch. Pale yellow, thin head. Peachy, weedy hop aroma. Creamy mouthfeel, mild bitterness, pear, peach, cannabis hops. Good stuff.
