12oz bottle-pours a rich light tan head that laces and copper color. Aroma is sweet citrus/pine (cascade) hops, medium malt-caramel, brown sugar. Taste is sweet citrus/pine (cascade) hops with a bite. OK/mild carbonation. Thanks decaturstevo for picking this out.

I suspect that this one was a touch light struck. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with a large white head. The aroma was strong spicy and floral hosp with a touch of skunk underneath. The flavor was crisp bitter floral hops with a sour, tangy and almost skunky malt base. The finish was bitter and sour. Disappointing.

Cloudy gold color. Brett aroma and more in the flavor. Just a little sour, more like a saison. This is good; the corn is perceivable and works in this beer. Medium palate.

Medium amber-brown, not too attractive really. Hoppy, fragrant aroma of grapefruit, pine, tons of hops, with decent caramel malt. Very strong alcohol flavor, with lots of hops again: pine, grapefruit, some cherry and dark fruit, but really driven by alcohol and hops. Way too much alcohol in the mouth. Nice otherwise, with really great hops. --- Beer merged from original tick of Double IPA on 29 Aug 2008 at 15:59 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Pours hazy dark amber with off white head. Aromas of pine and bready malts. Flvaors of caramel, malts, brown sugar, spices and pine hops. Medium to full body with average carbonation. Good stuff.

Courtesy of tpd975. Pours hazy brown with a hue of copper and tan head. Inviting aroma that beckons with a load of varying maltiness from caramelized to roasty to burnt to biscuit. I get some hoppiness while the alcohol hotness begins to hit. The taste is bold in all the right places with roasted to caramelized malts, crystal malts and biscuit to go along with some fruity esters. The hop bitterness comes in midway to reign in the malty apocalypse. The complex malty sweetness builds again into the finish leaving a pleasing after taste lined with mild hop bitterness.

BCTC’08 as Vitus. Pours a murky brown color with absolutely no clarity. Aroma is sweet, strong brown ale with plummy malts. And then a very nice subdued fruit sourness. Taste has light acidity with a nice sourness and Welcher’s grape juice (in a good way). I really liked this, I though the malts of the brown ale gave a nice back drop to a decent sourness. Then the earthy dark grapes added a very nice dimension to the beer.

BCTC’08. Completely hazy yellow golden color, cannot see though it. Aroma is a different/original sourness with some weird fruitiness in it. If I had more time to take notes I could describe it more, but for the moment thats as good as it gets. Taste is lightly acidic with lots of wheaty sourness. For lots of people this was the hit of the fest and I could definitely see why. Not strong on acidity with enough sourness to make it fun on an easy drinking beer.

Clear ruby beer, with a moderate lace - thick caramel malt aroma, with strong notes of rye and caraway, and a strong hop presence - taste of rye bread, seeds, cracked grains - quite bready throughout, with strong hops coming through near the finish - rye bread is pretty much the best descriptor for this beer - it tastes pretty good, though.

Pours gold into a Tumbler. Bright white micro head with excellent retention. Saaz aromas. Crisp and full with biscuit and a lasting hop finish.
