Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Grasy, perfumed and herbal! Heavy bitter flavor. Long great heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. Great beer.

Sllightly hazy orange coloured body with a super thin white bubbly head and some floaters on top. Aroma of pure hops, sugar, oranges (not just the peel), malt, more hops and tons more sugar. Medium to Full-bodied; Super strong hoppiness up front with a bunch of bitterness leading into a strong malty taste with a bunch of twangy characteristics. Aftertaste has way more hop bitterness which makes this really nice - no sweetness or malt to speak of...just an alcoholic kick and a hoppy taste in the mouth. Overall, I liked this beer way more than most other IIPAs, because it didn’t kick as much, but it had TONS of hops. Definitely worth trying if you can get your hands on it! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2006.

Medium amber-brown, not too attractive really. Hoppy, fragrant aroma of grapefruit, pine, tons of hops, with decent caramel malt. Very strong alcohol flavor, with lots of hops again: pine, grapefruit, some cherry and dark fruit, but really driven by alcohol and hops. Way too much alcohol in the mouth. Nice otherwise, with really great hops.

12 oz bottle from Beastiefan2K; Light flowery hop nose; copper with a very small offwhite head; flavor of very light hop bitterness and caramel. Is this really a DIPA. I would rate it a mediocre IPA!

Hazy peach pulp body, thin off-white head. Bready, caramely nose, dry, with subtle earthy hops, at least for an I2PA. Vinous body with potent alcohol and medicinal notes, prickly, with bitter, earthy hops. Long bitter, alcohol-laden finish. The heavy, bready but not too sweet malts fail to cut the bitterness or buffer against the alcohol. A beer of unnecessary heft and burn.

A gift from JoeMcPhee, he must of known since he didn’t like it I would. 12 oz bottle poured into small goblet glass with no head at all. A very beautiful thick murky orange body. Can’t see through it, looks like grapefruit juice, hints of things to come. Aroma is hop heavy with citrus light grapefruit. Taste is malty grapefruit, a nice heavy maltiness is speckled throughout the strong but not overpowering hop profile. A strong bitterness to offset the hop sweetness. Finishes with a sugary lemon juice aftertaste. Body is medium heavy and despite the spikey feeling coming off the hops there is a bit of an under cabonated feel. Wow, just realized its 10 percent.

Marshmellow aroma. It hides the alcohol very well in the aroma and flavor. Well balanced between sweet malt and bitter hops, but in a double IPA I don’t want balance as much as I do that hop burn. Still, a solid beer.

Clear gold pour with a white head. Bready malt and flowery hop aroma. Balanced flavor, sticky resiny citrus hops and caramel malt. A bit thin for the style, but this drinks easily enough.

Golden amber ale with a thin off white head. A rather floral hops aroma in attack, with signs of oxidized malts. In mouth, biscuitty malts, with grapefruity hops, a clean bitterness lingering, and caramel in finish. Medium bodied. Good but not Imperial. August 26,2006 at McGregor’s, Henrietta, NY. Served in a chalice, 5$.

Bottle: Poured orangey color ale with a huge bubbly head with better then average retention. Aroma is comprised solely of floral hops reminiscent of West Coast hops but with added earthiness. Taste is medium sweet with some lingering bitterness as this beer hits the back of your palate. There is some ‘’earthy’’ feeling that I can’t quite put a name on that doesn’t fit too well with this beer but since it is not too dominant it does not ruin this beer. Great imperial IPA.
