Description
Many moons ago, in the black of the night, Viking invaders were about to attack our hometown of Stirling, when a howling wolf alerted the defenders, who saved the town. We raise a glass to that wolf. The Black Wolf.
Started brewing in January 2004 using the name City of Stirling Brewery. It was initially a sister brewery to Bridge of Allen and Trossachs Craft Brewery. During late 2005 a new company was formed to allow further investment and the brewery name was changed to just Stirling Brewery at the same time. The name then changed to Traditional Scottish Ales Ltd in 2006. The name changed once more in 2014 to its current version.

Rocky white head on a lightly carbonated amber coloured body. Malt & shandy aroma. Medium bodied, foamy & clean. Sweet berries, tea, malt & caramel tastes with a lightly hopped bitter finish. Tastes like a decent Old School Bitter.

330ml bottle from Scottish Ale Shop, Kilmahog - Dark black body, big tan head. It's all about the nose with this one, cold brew coffee, sweet mocha, more roast coffee bean. Taste an anti-climax, watery coffee, slack mouthfeel. A bit of a let down.

330ml bottle from Scottish Beer Shop in Callander - clear pale yellow body with a short fizzy white head. Gentle oaky whisky notes in the nose, carries on with some butterscotch and vanilla tastes, some woodiness with a small alcohol burn at the end. Pleasant surprise.
