Description
The process of brewing beer hasn’t changed much since we started back in 1777. And neither has our unique approach to crafting characterful beer. But our equipment most certainly has.
Our state-of-the-art, independent, family-owned brewery now stands proudly alongside our old brewery on the banks of the River Stour in Blandford, Dorset. Using the finest ingredients and over 240 years of expertise, our brewers create beer that brims with flavour.

500ml bottle, drank at home on 19th December 2024. Black body, light beige crown. Intense coffee aroma and initial taste which didn't diminish in any way during my tasting. Very pleasant, ut you must like coffee!

[Cask at the New Inn, Salisbury.] A deep golden amber pour with a tight white head; sweet malty aroma with a touch of winter spice; a taste to match the aroma and a smooth malty body; and a satisfying finish.

Bottle. Clear dark red with a proper white head. Aroma of plums, cranberries, liquorice and metal. Taste of malts plums, raspberries, cranberries, blueberries and liquorice. Moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. It’s a strange beast and I can’t make head or tail of it. Sure it’s an interesting combination of flavors and unique but unfortunately not really that delicious.

Bottle from Tesco, Brooklands. Aroma has initial bitter coffee notes soon joined by sweet caramel. Dark and glossy. Thick foamy beige head. Bitter coffee but with a big intrusive dollop of caramel in there too. Sour berry edge. Light-medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Soft vaguely fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. For me the Coffee Stout byline is slightly misleading. Should be Coffee with Loads of Caramel Syrup Stout. Nice enough though. Just heading towards too sweet for me.
