Bottle thanks to Ernest, damn crazy mutations between animals with their hats. Poured into a small goblet La Trappe goblet glass. Let it warm for about 20 minutes after the fridge. Pours black with a small brown head that quickly dissipates into an almost nothing lacing. Aroma is very present, light chocolate, good smokiness (thats what really wins me over), slight roastiness. There is a slighty fishiness that I usually see in wheat coming through that is a turn off to me. The description is right on with the velvety aspect on the mouthfeel. Nice low carbonation with a thick mouthfeel, not syrupy but velvety. Nice roast, chocolate, smokey taste. Leaves a heavy roast aftertaste.

Bottle thanks to Suttree. Translucent deep brown body with reddish highlights, puffy light tan head. Aroma of coffee and licorice, with roasted malts and lactose sugars also prominent. Sharp, biting mouthfeel, the body primarily showing characteristics of roasted malt, coffee, and light sweetness imparted by the lactose. Overcarbonated and disappointingly bland.

Bottle from Suttree. Deep opaque brown body, medium tan-ochre head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, licorice, and dark burnt sugars. Bitter body with strong coffee and roasted malts, the primary characteristic being sharp, distracting carbonation. A dry porter, a bit thin-bodied, but pretty good.

12 oz bottle in a trade from Ernest, thank you. Well I got to give themk credit for their labels, simple yet intersting enough to look at. I juts cant tell if its a Scottish rabbit or Duck, damn these pranksters. Just got the package from Ernest, pulled it out and just started drinking it about 30 minutes since being home. I let the fact that the packege spent all day outside my door serve as the fridge. Pours dark rown with a small white head that soon fades away. Aroma is good Scotch Ale, very strong, peaty, sweat malt, slight caramel. But right up the ale of a good Scotch. Taste is similar, a bit more caramel coming out, the Scottish booziness is there. Earthy, wet forrest, all around. Some chocolate. Flavors meld pretty well. A bit light on body for me. Mouthfeel defeinitely has a prickly feel, not comfortable for a Scotch Ale. Low bitterness, finish is all Scotch Ale at the tail end with malty sweetness. No sense of hops at all, nice job on a style that is often hard to master.

There is only so much you can do with a brown ale and these guys took a good stab at it. It has lots of roasted nuts in the aroma. The beere is very dark brown and well carbonated with a thick head. Flavor is malt and definitely bitter with more nuts. Well hopped. Thanks Suttree.

Thanks to Suttree for this bottle. It doesn’t have the depth of the baltic porter, but the same heavy palate is there. Aroma much like an oatmeal stout. Flavor has light smoke and rare roast beef as well as popcorn. Black and oily appearance.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber colour with an off-white head. Sweet malty yeasty aroma with some hints of caramel. Sweet malty yeasty, caramel flavor with hints of dark fruits. Warming dry malty finish.
