Description
The brewery can look back on a long tradition. It was first mentioned in 1762 as a communal brewery. Only in 1923 the brewery became private property of Sigmund Pirzer and Hans Jakob. At that time it was called Bräuhaus Nittenau. Since 1996 the brewery has been known as the Nittenau Josef Jakob brewery.
Since 2006 the Nittenauer beers are produced in the newly built brewery in the Wulkersdorferstraße in Nittenau. The new production facility with its modern technology creates an ideal space for creative brewing technology, in which old processes are reconsidered, optimized and implemented to improve the product.
Sustainability and environmentally friendly production methods are of paramount importance. The brewery favours short trade routes and convincing freshness according to the motto "From the region - for the region". 94% of the energy required is covered by an own photovoltaic system. This makes the Nittenau brewery one of the few solar beer breweries in Germany (with a seal of quality).

330ml bottle. Hazy, yellow-ish, dark golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy fruity and spicy aroma, notes of orange peel and coriander seed, minimally musty, doughy, viz typical low alcohol flavours in the background, a minimally soapy touch that stems from the coriander seed. Taste is citrusy fruity and minimally soapy, spicy, notes of orange peel and coriander seed, rather neutral, malty body. Minimally watery, slightly overspiced (OK to override the neutral basis but eventually with too soapy outcome). Not bad overall.

Nittenauer Stockenfelser Geisterbräu, Flasche von REWE, Neunburg vorm Wald. - Kastanienrot, klar. Sehr dezente herbale Hopfung. Durchschnittlich rezent. Im Abgang feine Malzbittere und schwache Hopfenherbe. - Elegant malziges Dunkles, leider viel zu schüchtern gehopft. (8.10.2019.)

Bottle from Rudat. Smooth fresh oranges in the nose. Fruity perfumed with a nice grainy and slightly sweetish wit back. Floral herbal perfumed in the aftertaste with hints of bitterness.

Bottle courtesy of Jonas, cheers Jonas! Consumed at home, Attenkirchen, with the Ratebeer Tasting Crew. Saturday 21st September 2019. Pours mid amber with a white head, a little bitter, however there is caramel, softness, nice, simple but most enjoyable.

Bottle, dark gold amber, thin head. Sweet syrupy nose. How do you make an ale bock? It is rather sweet, earthy hops come at the end but don't balance the sweetness. Would be a nice mid winter ale to warm up.
