Toronto 2015 trip +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a copper color with a large foamy orange-white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was sweetish, citric, grassy and perfumey. The flavor was dryish with notes of cracker, grass and perfumey hops. Medium length hoppy finish. Light body. Blah.

Toronto 2015 trip +++ Sampled from a 473 ml can this beer poured a hazy yellow-gold color with a huge creamy-soapy yellow-white head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was tangy, sweet and malty with notes of honey and fruit. The flavor was toasty with toffee and honey followed by grassy hops and a bit of perfume. Medium length finish. Medium body. Exceeded expectations.

(On tap at Madison Ave Pub, Toronto, Jan 12 2016) Pours clear dark brownish amber with an off white head and no lace. Aroma is sweet with caramel, toffee, some earthy and kind of piney hops with just a bit of citrus fruitiness. Flavour mimics nose with lots of toffee sweetness to the malt, hops are pine, resin and earth dominated, a little bit of toast too. Some grapefruit and floral notes peek into the finish, which is medium-dry thanks to some bittering. Aftertaste has some grainy bread. Average mouthfeel, a bit sticky, carbonation is above average. Not bad as far as a malty pale ale goes, nothing really surprising here. A standby at places with mediocre tap selections.

Full bodied with a creamy nitrogen head. The vanilla is the dominant flavour, but not overpowering, overall really nice beer. Drank in Toronto airport. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light in colour with fruity Belgian notes and relatively full bodied for the style. I think it's a nice beer but lacking the complexity of better beers in the style. Drank in Toronto airport. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour light copper colour. Quite carbonated, but has a relatively full body for a lager. Although I think a bit too bitter for the style. Drank in Toronto airport. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Part of their Seasonal Sampler 6-pack for winter 2015-16. Pours a hazy amber colour with a warm beige cap, decent retention and some creamy lace. Caramel and fruity malt aromas. The taste shows more roasted malt character with grain, nutty notes and mild grassy hops in the finish creating a nice flavour overall. Some fruitiness blends thing well. A different Scotch Ale, but a decent brew overall.
