A clear dark brown ale with a thick frothy mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with candy sugar, dark fruits, plums, molasses, alcohol warmth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light dark fruits, light chocolate, light coffee, pleasant. On tap at Mill St Ottawa location.

Sampled form a 473ml can this beer poured a hazy copper color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was tea, orange, ginger and wheat. The flavor was bitter and tart with lemon and iced tea notes. Long iced tea finish. Light body. Meh.

Enjoyed on cask. Pours a hazy deeper amber colour with a beige head, decent retention for cask with a little lacing and a coat over the brew that stays. Very fruity aromas, sweet malty with some strawberry notes. The taste is quite fruity as well with the berry notes. Pretty sweet, but not super syrupy, with the help of the hops in the finish. Quite a nice fruity Belgian strong ale with nice hops. One of their best so far.

Draught. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a small, short lived, off-white head that left spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, corn and grass. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, bread, corn and grass with a lightly bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Kind of bland. I was a little disappointed.

Had at the Ottawa brewpub in 2014 the first time. Now having from the bottle, from their sample 6-pack. Pours a clean amber colour with a warm cap, long lasting with decent lace. Fruity malt nose with hints of nuts, cilantro grassy sourness and a barley base. Malty taste with some spiciness, but milder as low alcohol. Mineral water feel. The first time I had this, it had diacetyl, so was not the best. From the bottle, I do not feel this. Just real barley. Much better, making this a nice summer ale.

New at the brewpub, summer 2014. Pours a clear amber colour with a nice frothy off-white head, good retention and lots of lacing. Also lots of aromas with caramel, grain, nuts and butter. Decent medium bodied mouthfeel. The taste is lighter, as this is a lighter beer, but still has what is found in the nose. An overall decent mild ale with lots of diacetyl to give it some punch.

Pours a hazy light-golden colour with a frothy white head, average retention and lacing. Smooth citrus zest aromas with some fresh orange notes. The taste is citrusy as well with hints of lemon, oranges. Hints of vanilla from the oak, but very subtle. Refreshing IPA that has lots of oranges all over. Quite a pleasant brew from Mill Street.

16 ounce can into chalice, no can dating. Pours clear deep golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of earthy yeast spiciness and light herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, pepper, clove, wheat, biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from yeast spiciness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly creamy/bready, and lightly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good Belgian tripel style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.
