Smells a liittle malty, some raspberry. Pours ruby clear, a little foam. Tastes sour and gets pretty foul. Tough to finish a pint. Another below average raspberry beer. On tap at no name bar.

Enjoyed at the Ottawa Brewpub with the GF on our first night there, with the ribs special and some nachos. Pours a caramel-amber colour with a beautiful off-white head that is creamy, long lasting and adds dirty lacing. The aromas are quite mild with some sweet malts, hops and cereal grain notes. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. The taste has a bit more bite, but still mild with caramel malt, good grain in the finish and slight hop adding some bitterness and dryness. A pretty nice, easy-drinking, creamy Irish ale with help of the nitro.

Enjoyed at the Ottawa Brewpub with Lilihel on our first night there, with the ribs special and some nachos. Pours a golden colour with and amber hue and a small white head with minimal lace. The nose is malty with alcohol, hints of bananas and other fruits coming out in the finish. Warming mouthfeel with a little dryness from the hop, in the finish. Taste of sweet malts, well-balanced by the hop to cut into it, with fruit notes (oranges, bananas). Pretty decent Helles Bock that warms up, but does not overpower in any way.

A clear copper amber ale with a vary thin off white head. In aroma, a grainy nutty malt with light mineral notes, caramel and faint fruity esters. In mouth, a nutty and fruit dark malt with grassy German hops, light mineral notes, rather bock like, so-so. On tap at Arrow and Loon, July 25 2012.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Black color; creamy and persistent head. Aroma of roasted malt and paper. Smooth mouthfeel, with a weak flavor of dry roasted malt and ashes; correct bitterness. The final is rather short.
Too little effort.

(On draft at The Grad Club, Kingston ON) Poured a hazy medium brownish amber with a thin, fine head and no lacing. Aromas of dark bready malt, fruity banana esters, spice, pepper. Flavour malts, bready, bit of caramel, wheat, a bit of yeasty funk, smoky peppery finish, dry and refreshing. Good summer drinker, not as sprightly as it could be, but nice to have a different style.

Picked-up in their latest sampler pack. Pours a cloudy grapefruit colour with a creamy white cap that goes down but stays over the brew and the lace is pretty good. Grainy nose with not much fruit. The mouthfeel is kind of creamy. A little more blueberries in the taste but still, very light, with the grain being more dominant. Close to the Ashton Blueberry Wheat I had recently, mild with the blueberry not being overpowering.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of pushkinwow. Thanks! Cloudy, golden orange appearance with a small white head. Coriander, orange citrusy, light lemon, fairly bready yeasty aroma. Tangy, orange peel, somewhat spicy, orange juicy flavor. Ok.

Amber-red. Great crystal-toasty malt aroma is appetizing. The taste, however, is just crushed by the nitrogen. For all the awesomeness that the aroma hints at, there is simply nothing left on the palate but bland caramel. What’s the point of using those great ingredients?
