tastes like a good cup of joe, cream and sugar included. The touch of sweetness is barely noticeable but plays its part well.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a nice thin white head and a million bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Aroma of corn, wheat, curacao, yeast and a lot of coriander seed - nice! Medium-bodied; Assertive carbonated feeling and a lot of lemon and citrus character up front fading to a slightly mild coriander seed taste ending with a good light wheat taste - very nice and complex. Aftertaste is mild, subdued, sweet and slightly tangy from the citrus. Overall, a very nice wit, definitely good for the style due to its complexity throughout the beer! I enjoyed this and would recommend it to anyone visiting Toronto or can get it at an LCBO! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from the LCBO in Toronto (Summerhill), Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 11-October-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 16-April-2010.

2009 ceramic bottle thanks to blutt59. Batch 09-669-673. Pours with a hazy golden orange body with no head. Aroma of caramel, alcohol and some apple. Taste is sweet, boozy, alcohol, with a bitter finish. Syrupy with very light bubbles. Not my favorite barley wine, not too much character or depth.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head and a hazed golden body. Aroma is tart with lemon, coriander and other spices. Taste follows through with the tart and lemony character of the aroma with perhaps a bit of pineapple. Tingly carbonation. Refreshing.

(bottle) yellow with tan head; sweetish malty aroma; flavour is malt and wheat; bit of light mineral bitter finish, overall once again not bad but also unexceptional

(bottle) black colour with tall tan head; aroma of coffee with hint of smokiness; taste of coffee with light bitter finish; overall not impressive, very simple and one dimensional rerated 01/2011 (bottle) very dark colour with medium tan head, weak aroma of coffee with a hint of roast and bread; faint flavour of coffee, watery palate, not offensive just watered down and mediocre - tastes like water used to rinse a bottle of good porter - I guess a good beer for people who think they like beer but really don’t

(bottle) dark amber colour; aroma of fruit, bit of longan - very pleasant and promising; taste disappoints - very simple, with unpleasant bitter finish tried again in 2011 - still disappointing: (bottle) clear medium amber colour, tall tan head; aromas mostly floral, noticeable lack of citrus and fruit this time; flavour is still simple, palate watery -> worst APA I have ever had - it could easily be another Rickards crappy product
