Bottle from Drinks of the world, St. Gallen. It is clear pale yellow with a white head. The aroma is sweet, malt and straw. The taste is sweet and light bitter.

Bottle from local Home Bargains store – drank at home. Pours almost black with a small transient tan head. There’s sweet malts in the aroma along with hints of dried fruit, chocolate and alcohol. In the mouth it starts off pretty d*mn sweet with malts and chocolate. Thankfully this is toned down by the emergence of alcoholic strength, revealing hints of liquorice, treacle and some fruity sweetness. Finish is a bit more watery. This is rather nice – dangerously drinkable !

Bottle. Almost black with a fading fat tan coat. Aroma is more dark sugars than roast. But there’s an OK balance between the two upon a swig. Lighter bodied than guessed and not q as sweet. Moderate bitterness. Carries the alcohol well. Fair enough.

Krystallklar golden med Høy! Offwhite fyldig topp som daler sakte. Aroma; høy, kornmalt, humle, sitrusfrukter. Smak; kornmalt, lynghonning, humle, gjær. Lett søtlig pils. Middels ettersmak. Takk til Linda.

Etwas boozy

250 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with moderate head. Aromas of chicory, brown sugar candy, raisins and rye bread. Flavors of vegetal roasted barley .

Now this beer is getting a much higher rating than it deserves for 2 reasons. 1) it's always been the cheapest beer at metal gigs. 2) it's still the cheapest beer at metal gigs (just). It's not good, but nostalgia sometimes wins.
