Birra Menabrea is part of the history of beer in Italy. Founded in 1846 by Mr. Welf di Gressoney and the brothers Antonio and Gian Battista Caraccio, in 1854 the brewery was rented to Giuseppe Menabrea and Antonio Zimmermann, who bought it in 1864. Following the exit of Zimmermann from the company, it was Giuseppe Menabrea who set up the 6 July 1872 "G. Menabrea and sons". At the head of the brewery is Carlo Menabrea until, in 1896, the company passed into the hands of Emilio Thedy and Augusto Antoniotti, husbands of the Menabrea sisters. From that moment on, the Thedy family will lead the company.
In 1991, the company became part of the Forst Beer Group. However, Birra Menabrea retains its strong identity and independence intact. Since 2005 the director is Franco Thedy, the fifth descendant of the family. In 2017, Franco Thedy gave the go-ahead for the expansion of the Brewhouse with advanced features and a spectacular visual impact. Inauguration is scheduled for March 2019.

Bottled 330ml. -at Scout Club Samobor. Dark golden/pale amber coloured, medium to big sized off-white head, caramel nose with unpleasant acidic/metallic whiff. Sweetish malty, caramel, metal and light bready notes with rather sweet finish. Like Bionda not good.

330ml bottle from Zizzi restuarant, Canary Wharf London. Clear golden amber colour, short-lived white bubby foam head and aroma of biscuity malt, grain, grassy. Taste is sweet malty, biscuity, grassy and slight bitterness. Light bodied, medium to high carbonation, dryish finish. OK, standard lager.

0,33L bottle. Pourls yellow-golden with white head. The small head stays. Aroma is sweet, malt, typical lagerish. Flavor is sweet, malt and some hoppy bitterness. Finish is malty, but also has some bitterness. Overall: not offending, but not really good neither.

Noe syrlig duft av malt og humle. Fin gyllen farge. Tynt lag skum som forsvinner. Syrlig tørr smak.

Location: 11.2 oz bottle at Acqua al 2
Aroma: It has a light, clean hop nose, some grassy notes, pale malts, and some earth
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color color with a small, fizzy white head
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, light and hoppy, clean, grassy, and some light malts
Palate: The body is light and clean as well, average-plus carbonation, cleanish finish
Overall Impression: I found this to be a light and drinkable beer. It isn't great, but it isn't anything bad either. A solid, drinkable Italin brew.

Bottle. Golden with a slight white head and moderate carbonation. Solid, all-round pils, tending to the malty, with a moderately bitter finish. Ok.
