Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost clear nutty brown with a beige head. Nose is that sweet, sticky, gluey umburana wood that is incredibly difficult to love. Body is surprisingly light considering the strength, some dark fruits, some Belgian yeast and phenols. Apparently the beer has been both on whisky and cachaça barrels, but it’s the umburana notes, that come through. less so in the flavor than in the aroma - thankfully. Somewhat boozy finish. But "interesting" - umburana is just very much an acquired taste, and I’m not a fan yet. 170816

Dark brown. No head. Lots of soy sauce, creosote. Rich plummy depths. Deep cherry, fruity taste. Light tartness as well. Complex and balanced beer shows a lot of maturity.

35 cl bottle. Clear orange/light amber color, big stable white head, lots of lacing. Hoppy nose. Aroma is mildly hoppy, grassy hops with fruity tones, american hops, grapefruit and orange peel, undefined malt profile with a leftover of burnt sugar. Taste is balanced but neither exciting, moderately bitter, salty. Medium body, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Simple raw IPA.

355 ml bottle, 4.5%. Pours a dark brown color, a nice burgundy in see-thru, clear. Quite big but reducing brownish head, roasted nose.
Aroma of chocolate, dark malts, nuts, bitter cocoa, a hint of spice as in certain dunkels. There’s a shadow of metallic and fruity esters. Taste is smooth and fairly bitter. Texture is creamy, body is medium, finish is quite long, bitter, dryish with a remainder of coffee charcoal. Very interesting and surprisingly tasty for a 4.5 ABV and outstanding for BR standards, as far as i know.

A hazed blonde weizen with with a thin white head. In aroma, a sweet banana malt with weird solventy notes and bilous notes. In mouth, a sweet ripe banana with cloying notes, cream, a bit of acidity, lacking body. Bottle at Mondiale 2012, June 8 2012.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color beer with a large foamy head with good retention. Aroma of unrefined cereal notes is not very enticing. Taste is also dominated by unrefined cereal notes with light residual sugar notes. Body is full with medium carbonation. This one was quite bad and ended up dumping it.
