Description
In 1999 the brewery was established in the ''Commanderie van St. Jan'' in Nijmegen. This 12th century monastery has since been our production location and also the place where beer has been drunk most for years. In Brouwerscafé De Hemel, the 12 taps are always filled with different brewes from Hemel. Beer production takes place in the cellars of the Commanderie.

Bottle @ home. Lightly unclear golden color, medium sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly grainy, a hint of yeast, some bitter and a slight distant hint of fruitpeel tart. Average to decent body and carbonation.

Bottle @ benzai. Hazy pale yellow to greenish colour with a medium sized white head. Smells absinthe, anice, sambuca. Tastes like you would expect from the smell. And some liquorice. Hate it. Medium body, soft carbo

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy pale yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste anise, absinthe and sambucca. Perhaps a hint of liquorice as well. Weird and also stuff I don’t want in my beer.
