Description
Early in the 21st century, a vision was born. A dream to unite the land of brews, bring harmony to all who pledged their strength… and make some damn good beer. They who had the vision started the journey and thus began the story… nay… the legend of Bombastic Brewing.
Bombastic Brewing began in 2016. Inspired by the scale of Sierra Nevada, the “gypsy” model of Mikkeller, the business model of early Sam Adams, and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the world through craft beer, Russell Mann sold his retail beer business and set out to create an interesting craft brewery, built in a different model: Partner Brewing.
He took on two co-founders, and being thwarted from Partner Brewing by Johnny Law, Bombastic pivoted and started brewing on a 30, then 50 gallon system in a garage-style facility by the airport. Bombastic would roll open the big garage doors every Saturday to welcome the brave craft beer enthusiasts who showed up and had a great time, buying out every release.

From a 16 oz can at Bier:Thirty pours out a milky dull light orange with a pale light beige head coaxed up after an aggressive pour. Continental musty wit yeast notes come up right away, light pale malts, a little bready and a very nice faint citrus and floral hop character. Quite tasty.

16 oz can from Jeremy. Hazy golden body with a lasting silky head. Aroma comes on strong with some clove or cardamom. A bit savory. Trace Amounts of the blood orange are available in the tastes however not enough to overcome the Savory Blast from the spices.

Bomber. Aroma is caramel, dark fruit, cereal. Pours black with brown edges and a one finger beige head with decent retention. Taste is lightly sweet with an herbal hop moderately bitter edge. Beery cereal flavors, as advertised. Unique and tasty.

Smells like soup. Pours hazy pale orange with a decent bone white head. Taste is moderately bitter, lightly sweet, with flavors of soup. Doesn’t taste like a stout.

Waxed bomber from the Benefactor release. Aroma is caramel, bourbon, coconut, wet stone, chardonnay, toffee. Pours hazy brown with orange highlights and no head. Taste is amazing--sweet and savory, lightly boozy with lots of nice barrel flavors, chardonnay noticeable. Carbonation is very light, but it's not bothering me nearly as much as usual. It seems to work out okay more with barleywines than imperial stouts for me. Really tasty and a great beer.

Bomber from the Benefactor release. Aroma is fudgy, coconut, licorice, soy sauce, raisin, coffee, light barrel, light booze. Pours inky black with no head. Taste is sweet and savory, finishing dry. Tastes mostly like an imperial stout, which isn't surprising, considering it's 67% of the blend. The barleywine and adambier don't really come through. Somewhat soft carbonation and an oily mouthfeel. Not bad.

Bomber from the Benefactor release. Aroma is fudgy, coffee, vanilla, raisin, licorice, light barrel. Pours like motor oil with no head. Taste is sweet and savory with flavors like the aroma. Pretty boozy but not in an excessive way. Very lightly carbonated and oily. Nice flavors and a great aroma but I personally like a little more carbonation.
