Description
Early in the 21st century, a vision was born. A dream to unite the land of brews, bring harmony to all who pledged their strength… and make some damn good beer. They who had the vision started the journey and thus began the story… nay… the legend of Bombastic Brewing.
Bombastic Brewing began in 2016. Inspired by the scale of Sierra Nevada, the “gypsy” model of Mikkeller, the business model of early Sam Adams, and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the world through craft beer, Russell Mann sold his retail beer business and set out to create an interesting craft brewery, built in a different model: Partner Brewing.
He took on two co-founders, and being thwarted from Partner Brewing by Johnny Law, Bombastic pivoted and started brewing on a 30, then 50 gallon system in a garage-style facility by the airport. Bombastic would roll open the big garage doors every Saturday to welcome the brave craft beer enthusiasts who showed up and had a great time, buying out every release.

Aromas are dark malt, toast and a bit of nutmeats. Aromas are slightly similar to nose but way better. A lot more going on. Add in a little smoke, caramel and slightest hint of banana. Just right body and carbonation. Excellent sipping beer.

Opaque petrol black with a decent tan head. Toasted & roasted, pronounced oak barrel tannins, esters, chocolate & coffee, vanilla, hop. Light sweet & bitter. Well-hidden alcohol. Not of best balance but good.

16 oz can. Aroma is berries, vaguely floral. Pours lightly hazy golden with a half finger bone-white head that reduces to a ring fairly quickly. Taste has a lovely firm hoppy bitterness backed by light bready malt sweetness. Huckleberry flavor is there, but pretty light. Really crushable.

16 oz can. Aroma is bold, peanut butter, chocolate, mild roast. Flavor follows with a nice peanut element. Marshmallow is low. The can is a year old and I don’t mind the marshmallow being soft.
Medium plus body with a dry texture. Good!

Can (6/10/25) shared by CLW--thanks, Chris! Opaque, dark brown, light viscosity, thin head with poor retention, no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted peanut butter, chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow (as it warms) and dare I say cookie! Taste is strong roasted peanut butter, vanilla, cookie. Smooth texture, soft carbonation, alcohol completely hidden, finish as taste with roasted bitterness. There were many possible wrong turns here and they didn't take any! This was VERY good!

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Pale golden pour, clear, fast disappearing head. Fruity aroma, huckleberry. Taste is sweet, berries, dry. Seems to be more of an extract flavor.

Can shared by CLW--thanks, Chris! Virtually opaque, cola brown, nice viscosity, ring of head, no lacing. Aroma strong, rich, roasted bittersweet coffee. Taste is strong coffee (not as strong as aroma), very faint spice (cinnamon?). Smooth texture, relatively thin texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Basically just getting coffee without anything else but nice coffee Stout.

16 oz can. 12/09/2025. Aroma of roasted malt, mild roasted coffee and chocolate. The coffee character is bold and strong even being 6 months old. Body is a tad lean for the style but still medium. Smoother texture. Pretty good.

Tavour; pours black with beige head. Aroma is cjocolatey coffee, some mellow roasty notes. Pretty smooth and easy for an impy. Not bitter or particularly sweet. Solid but not great coffee giving the adjuncts. Fine.

Can. Pours unclear hazel, medium creamy tan head, nice lacing. Aroma is heavy malt, roast, light hardwood smoke, caramel, black bread. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, super rich and malty, light smoke. Full body, soft mouthfeel. Wow, this is one of the nicest non BA beers i have ever had (and that's saying a fair bit).
