500ml bottle from a shop in the Brecon Beacons. Clear amber, off-white head. Earthy, bitter affair with fleeting marmalade glimpses. Ok, but a little rocky overall.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. As noted by Planky, this is now a Milk Stout. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. Nose is vanilla and milky coffee. In the mouth there is plenty of variety, chocolate, raisins, milky coffee and liquorice. Fruit is starting to come through at the finish. Has a slightly watery texture but is otherwise very agreeable.

Sample courtesy of minutemat, cheers Mat! Golden colour, short-lived thin white foam head and aroma of apple, fruity, caramel hint. Taste is sweetish, apple, fleshy, pulpy, with a hint of caramel and a little acidity. Medium bodied, light carbonation, medium-dry slightly tart finish. Quite drinkable.
