On tap at The White Rabbit Club, Oxford, in the company of John, Wednesday 11th May 2022. Pours mid/dark amber with a white head. Typical earthy and hedgerow type hoppiness, fruity, light bitterness, a throwback type beer amongst a bunch of more modern ones this evening. Fine.

Bottle from Warwick Real Ale. Appearance - golden with a very slight hop haze. Off white haze. Nose - orange and biscuit. Taste - brown bread and orange. Palate - light bodied with a tangy texture. Decent bitterness. Ok. Overall - ok.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with a thick white head. Aromas of malt, light orange and bread. Taste is more of the same. Dry finish.

Bottle from Warwick Real Ale. Appearance - not golden, rather amber to copper. Off-white proportionate head. Nose - brown bread, hazelnut and just a hint of orange peel. Taste - bread and nuts again. Citrus if you go searching. Palate - close to medium bodied. Creamy texture. Decent bitterness on the finish. Overall - decent, but more of a Bitter than a Golden Ale.

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Oct 20. Thanks Jeremy for this one. Pours amber, small white head. Burnt twigs, earthy hop and smoky leather on the nose and to taste. Can't imagine that was the intended result. Odd.

500ml bottle: BBE Jul 2021. Drank at home on 3rd Nov 2020. Lovely clear and clean deep copper body, off-white crown. Malty with a light spicy kick in the nose and taste. Some hop action towards the finish.

Monday 26th October 2020; Shrewsbury Monthly Beer Share, in Chez Sophie. Five beer geeks, one aim! 500ml bottle; BBE Jul 2021, brought by me. Golden amber pour, clear and clean, white crown on top. Malty front to the nose and taste, strange 'singed' twang, slight infection somewhere?

Pours a hazy golden amber with minimal white head. A mix of hops and grains in the nose. In the mouth, the main impression is marmalade, with some fruity hops and malt underneath. The finish is bitter with some citrus. Not a bad attempt at a traditional IPA.

Half-pint, cask ale as Oxford IPA at Four Candels (JDW). Shared with Finn. Clear dark golden body. Patchy layer, scattered lacing. Floral nose, hints of grass. Hints of leafy hops and mild malty sweetness to the taste buds. Distant bittersweet end. Fair enough. (Oxford 25.10.2019).
