This attention to selecting the right fruit has always been important at Worleys. We don’t add flavourings to our ciders, yet each cider we make has distinct characteristics, determined by the apple blends we use.
As the business started to grow, we invested in a lot of our own equipment – buying a mill and press and storage units and increasing the size of our premises. We’ve added a pasteuriser and box-filler to the list since.

500ml bottle from Orchard box. Golden colour with a white foam head that quickly dissipates away. Nose of apple, caramel, hint of apple pie. Taste is sweet, apple, some caramel, white wine, melon, with funky notes and drying tannin. Medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, dry tannic finish with some residual sweetness. Quite drinkable.

Bag-in-a-box at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Slightly hazy pale gold. Slightly tart, some wood, some spice. Baked apple and a weird aftertaste that made me think of a rusty water tank. Dry finish. Bit watery. Not great.
