Description
Heist started brewing from our old site in Clowne, Derbyshire in 2018, building a reputation for a wide variety of beers. The move to Sheffield was always on the cards and now allows us to expand operations with doubled fermentation capacity, an awesome new brewing team and plans to upgrade and replace the older 10HL brewkit in 2022. Although our plans had been severely delayed due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we are back at it, brewing flat out to service the new taproom and our fantastic customers across the country.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Very dark, conker brown. Mostly clear. Thin, messy, leggy, lasting, tan head. Looks good. Nose has salted caramel chocolate. And you can leave it at that, really. Job done. Taste is sweet and salty in equal measure. Touch of vine fruit bitterness. Some hop bitterness, too. Smooth mouthfeel. Pretty slick and rich. Fine carbonation. Salty and fruity bitterness to finish. Nails it.

Can. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, slightly soft but with decent trailing carbonation. Rich but smooth dark malts. Boozy dark chocolate liqueur. The salted caramel aspect is pretty feckin salty! Too much so to be frank. Some dark fruits on the end. Yeah, feels like some weird Imperial Chocolate Gose or something. Not hating it but it is a bit clunky.

Keg at Brew Club - Hackney. Pours hazy gold with a slight, creamy white head. So so, has some rindy citrus, sturdy bitter grass, some astringency, a little plastic. Medium bodied with fineness to average carbonation. A bit harsh, astringent in the finish, quite bitter, more grass and plastic. So so overall.
