330 ml can, as Fjordfolk Mørkeredd Black IPA (Cascadian Dark Ale), from Vinmonopolet Madla. ABV is 6.5%, IBU 65. Moderately gushing can. Nearly black colour, large beige head. Aroma of sourish mash, moderate roast malts. Fairly dry flavour of roast malts, bitter coffee, dark bitter chocolate, distinct bittering hops. A pretty rough beer.

Can @ home. Unclear golden body with a fast disappearing white head. Aroma is mostly apple with a tail of grassy hops. The taste is rather neutral/generic apple cider with a distinct grassy hop flavor. Normally not to keen on hoppy ciders, but this works quite well somehow. Not much bitterness and quite sweet, but it feels more balanced against the hops I guess. Some acidity as well helps with the balance. Not great but fair enough within the hoppy cider style.

Can. A clear, lightly sparkling cider, with some white bubbles around the rim. The aroma has fresh yellow apples, some grassy hints and little else. It's medium bodied and semi-sweet, with a gentle carbonation. Yellow apple juice flavor, with some apple cores and hints of grass. Medium length finish. Rather dull, and uninteresting, but clean and decent. Wish it wasn't as sweet, shouldn't have been necessary to add sugar to the drink. 240525
