Description
Font Salem is a Spanish company that markets its products both in Spain and in neighboring Portugal. Their strength is making beer, soft drinks and water for third parties. Their industry experience is over 25 years, as they have earned the trust of the major companies they work with (Mercadona, El Corte Inglés, Lidl, Eroski etc.). Grupo Damm acquired the company in several steps since 1999.

The company has three plants, two in Valencia and one in Portugal. The one in El Puig de Santa María, in Valencia, is dedicated to brewing beer, the second, in Salem, Valencia, makes soft drinks. The Santarém factory in Portugal produces both beer and soft drinks.

Acquired in 2023 by COCEDA (Damm)

Canned. Yellow, small head. Fruity, unclean, sweet and mellow with plenty of vegetables and other off flavours. Oh, the enjoyment of these supermarket brews...

Canned. Yellowish golden colour, nice white head. Strong hoppy nose. When being fridge cold it’s mostly bitter to the flavour. Once it’s been in roomtemperature for a while the flavour gets a bit better, some hints of malt and a bit sweetness. A bit better than bulk Finnish lagers in my opinion.

Golden beer, well carbonated to small but dense off-white head. Malty, slightly grassy, faintly alcohol-sweet, nearly brandy-ish nose. Taste is again alcoholic & sweet, which is weird for a 5.8% ABV beer. Industrial white toasting bread ’taste’. Rather burning MF, consistent with the alcoholimpression. Finish is rather empty however. Dull, but nothing wrong. Weirdly alcoholic.

Can. Sweet berry aroma. Light yellow color and small head. Sparkling - high carbonation. Sweet flavor - slight pineapple yet no beer flavor. You could get the same flavor by putting a splash of Malibu in mineral water.
