Tap @ Patricks. Unclear brown body with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma has malt, bread, licorices and Christmas spices. Flavor is quite sweet malt, some caramel, toast, Christmas spices, star anise in particular with moderate bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Like a decent brown ale added some Christmas spices. Probably a tad to spicy for use together with Christmas food, but OK for a glass at a relaxed evening. Nothing wrong but nothing extraordinary either.

330ml bottle from Gulating Ølutsalg, Tromsø. Frothy, stable, off-white head leaving crocheted lacing behind. Deep rosewood coloured body. Indeed, good looking in the glass. Brown malty aroma, lightly spiced. Well blended Yuletide taste of roasted dark malts, bread, black chocolate, and mild impact of star anise. Coffee notes to a dark bitter tail. Medium bodied. A pleasant surprise. (Tromsø 30.12.2017).

Bottled 330ml (Vinmonopolet)
Hazy yellow colour, small white head. Aroma has tart blood orange, it is almost medicinal. Light to medium-bodied. Very tart and citric. Passion fruit and blood orange maybe. Too medicinal tartness for my liking.

Bottle, as Barlindodden Jul. A lightly hazy brown beer with a dense off-white head leaving lacing. Rather spiced aroma, licorice, cloves and anise, malty and bready. Spiced flavor too, fruity and bready, dried fruits and dark rye bread that is, with licorice, cloves, there's no cloves in the beer actually, and a perfumed touch. It's full to medium bodied and semi-sweet, with a nice carbonation. Lasting spiced and quite dry finish. Too much star anise in this one, else it's a fine brew. The coffee is quite subdued. 171209

Bottle. A clear, golden colored beer with a white head leaving some lacing. Citrusy, almost catpee-ish aroma with pine cone notes. Lime. It's medium bodied, dry and with a nice carbonation level. Lime zest, pine cones and a touch of resins in the flavor. Hints of pale malts. Lasting lime-ish finish. Too much lime going on here, but there's much goodyness too. 171111
