On tap at Der Blauer Engel, Kiel, as Mück's Matrosenbier (an alias used only at this pub). Amber colour, white head. Malty and grainy aroma, a hint of wort. Malty flavour, a touch of caramel and lightly roasted malts. Very moderate hops. Smooth to drink, fair enough.

500 ml bottle. Pours clear golden, medium sized head. Metal, lemon, grass. Metallic bitterness. Light bodied, lively carbonated, dry metallic finish, watery texture. Too metallic, but drinkable.

Bottle at LKS. It pours clear yellow with a small white head. The aroma is grainy, sweet, paper, buttered white bread and some fruity apple. The taste is crisp, dry, grainy sweetness papery, oily, doughy white bread and some lemony action with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Pretty so-so. It is clean, but boring.
