Description

Bottle, thanks bierkonning, almost no head, opaque black colour, aroma of bittersweet dark chocolate and some whiskey wood with lots of alcohol spiraling out, flavor of dark chocolate, dried fruits, a hint of vanila and a whiff of ash, lots of alcohol in the back, heavy and unbalanced, too one dimensional.

Bottle. Dark. Tobacco, soy sauce, raisins. Metallic, tobacco, coffee, cream, vanilla, tonka. It is actually still drinkable, and not too sweet.

Bottle courtesy of Jonas who traded this with a sadly departed Ratebeer legend Günther. We had this Saturday 14th February at the Manglham 2nd Winter Tasting and raised a glass to Günther. Pours black, no head, as Loz says elastoplast and germolene but what is really Islay whisky I guess. Soft mouthfeel, great drinkabilty, smooth and super easy drinking which amazes me considering the abv. Score 7.8

0.33l bottle at Mangled Ham 2026, thanks Jonas! And na zdraví Günther, wherever you are,, and thank you as well, all these years after! Pitch black body, traces of a white head. Oooh, this is a peat iodine bomb, but not offensive, extreme licorice perhaps, some oxidation, but pleasant, vaguely cakey, yet still peaty. Lean, dry peat-driven taste, some chocolate cake vibes, iodine, minerally, bitterish finish, some alcohol in the aftertaste. My my my. Drinkable. Excellent stuff!

Bottle, probably the last one I have from a Pivnizub Packerl. Black. Iodine and cigars, Medium light dry body, roast, salt, soy tobacco. Tilted too far to one side, but still enjoyable. Skål Günther!
