Pre GBBF tasting at Chris and Ruth’s. Hazy gold beer, good off white head. Palate is airy and softish, decent fine carbonation. Sweet pale malts. Sweet floralness. Floral generic fruits. Honey. Light finish. Not bad.

Can from Albertsons. Pours out a deep golden with thick fluffy head. Thick, clumpy lacing. Aroma is more malt than hops, taste is fairly smooth, small hops bite at the end. Nice malt profile. Easy drinker, not too bitter.

A bit muted than comparable reds, and quite a bit drier. Normal color, head is fairly wispy. Malty with a touch of hops.

Tap at OBF 2015. Pours ambery gold with a white head. Aroma seems something very sage. Med body or so. Flavor is sage - but no hint of poultry. :( Not a heavy ale, but oddly refreshing

Bottle from Fred Meyers in Boise. Decent aroma and taste, fast receding fluffy head. Aroma is musty yeast, taste brings in more of the savory herb flavors. Slick, substantial body. Finish lingers a bit.

Bottle from Fred Meyers. Pours out a dark brown with silky tight beige head. Normal dark roast malt aroma leads to a fuller, more robust flavor. Overall body is creamy and smooth, adding to the experience. First impression was ho-hum, but it gets better as it warms. Elements of chocolate in the finish.

Location: 12 oz can from Winooski Beverage, 7/17/15

Aroma: Aroma on the grainy side, some bread, pale malts, a bit of grassy hop, and some yeast
Appearance: Clear golden-orange color with a thin white head and strong, drippy lacing
Flavor: Malt forward, with some light pale malt sweetness, grassy bitterness, light spice
Palate: Light-medium body, drinks super easy, somewhat clean, and has average carbonation
Overall Impression: Solid enough, but it doesn’t go beyond that for me. Not clean or flavorful enough to be a standout in the style. I could see this being better super fresh, but I can’t say what the age is on this can.
