27.06.2013, 0,35l bottle @ Spice Market NY:
Small creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fruity, wheat, yeast, banana, dried fruits, dough, citrus. Taste is kind of strange, slightly concentrated, light malts, alcohol, citrus peel, grass, hay, yeast, almond essence, citrus. Medium bitterness. Fair enough, a little boozy taste.

Bottle. Amber body with a frothy, off-white head. Raw grain and leafy hop aroma along with notes of biscuit, flowers, caramel, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Subtle hops are balanced with caramel tasting malts, but the malt bill comes off husky and unclean.

750mL bottle, sent from BrewtopiaofPJ (thanks Mark), pours a deep dark mahogany / amber with a large off-white / beige head. Aroma of Belgian spices, toffee, some floral notes and candied sugar. Flavour is very complex and luscious, full of floral notes, caramel, some light spices, and candied sugar. Extremely complex flavour, with a wonderful integration of the different flavours - the sweetness is perfectly situated, never becoming cloying. Not as elegant as something like Rochefort 10 or St. Bernardus 12, but certainly one of the best American quads. Excellent.

Pour is a hazy honey color with a average white head. Aroma is musty but fruity with some orange peel. Flavor is more fresh off the tree citrus with some sugar with spice and maybe a touch of white pepper. Finish is dry with a nice vanilla left on the tongue. This is one of the better saison’s I’ve had in awhile. Nice yeastiness with a lot of fresh citrus.

Bottle thanks to a trade. Pours a near clean earthy orange with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of grass and hay with a touch of flora and a good amount of chamomile. Flavor has more light fruit with a bit of sweet flora and a strong chamomile note as well.
