19.05.2013, 0,35l bottle @ home:
Big creamy longlasting head. Aroma is smooth, licorice, dark roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, toffee, nuts, salty caramel, some hops. Taste is is roasted sour-ish coffee and dark malts, alcohol, grass, burnt caramel, licorice, bitter dark chocolate, nuts. Longlasting bitterness. Some years of aging would probably be a good thing for this one.

Pour is a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma is a earthy, toffee malt with some caramel. Flavor is caramel malt, some mild dark fruit and a mild spice. Finish has some dark breadyness. This was a decent and different beer.

Bottle thanks to Dave. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with small frothy head. The aroma is yeast and funk. Medium mouthfeel with sweet fruit and light sugary malt with nice sweet finish. A good old ale from Southampton.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent dark brown color. Small tan head dissipates quickly. Faint roasted malt nose. Sweet roasted malt flavor is redolent of cocoa and coffee with licorice undertones. Nicely complex and flavorful. Cloying, earthy, full bodied and delicious.

12 oz. bottle, bonused to me by BrewtopiaofPJ (thanks Mark), pours a hazy rusted golden with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out traditional French biere de garde notes - some farmhouse notes, some tarnished metal, and some skunky notes. Flavour is more of the same, with old farmhouse notes, some earthy notes, and some vegetal notes. Very light-bodied and seems a bit "off". Never been a fan of this style, and this one certainly hasn't converted me.

Bottle shared by Maxx at tasting in NYC. Pours cloudy yellow gold with white head. Nose and taste of lemon, ripe banana puree, sour milk and soured wheat malt. Medium body. Well balanced tartness.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large whtie head. Aroma is ok with some citrus peel the main thing that jumps out at you. Flavor is again lots of orange peel with a chalky heavy malt. Probably heavier than should be for the style. Finish has more citrus and corriander bitterness. Deffinalty a amped up wit and I ended up liking this more that I thought I would.
