On tap at the Mountain Brewers Festival 2013. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of caramel and fruit. The flavor is also quite sweet, candied fruits, light perfume hops. Clean and tasty.

Almost pitch black, with a small head of foam that quickly shrinks leaving some lacing behind.

Roasted malt and grain in the smell but not very aromatic. Some sweetness around too.

Light roasted malt, sweet malt, light grain with a small zap of hop bitterness. Nice.

Good mouthfeel this medium bodied, lightly carbonated Porter has.

Overall, it’s an enjoyable and easy to drink Porter. The Howler will be easy to empty.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Pours black with a medium thin tan head and small patches of lacing. Aroma of chocolate and malt. Light body with flavors of chocolate malt, mild coffee and a touch of hops. The finish is short with a sweet malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.
