Description
Established in 2018 by former Blackpool mayor Robert Wynne.

The Brew Room is housed in what was formerly known as The Blue Room, where Blackpool Football Club was originally formed (then called The Stanley Arms Pub). After being empty for years until Wynne’s acquisition last summer, the building had fallen into a derelict state, but renovation works have seen it restored to its former glory.

Part of the vision for the venue was to create somewhere unique, boasting long term appeal to a wide demographic of customers. In order to meet this objective, Robert has created his very own micro-brewery “West Coast Rock Brewery” (a 6BBL plant is used) which is housed at the back of the pub.

Keg @ Brew 1887, Blackpool. Golden with a thick frothy head and plenty of carbonation. Light lageresque effort, although it's slightly better than that style and soft textured.

16th September 2023, 1887 Brew Room, Blackpool; hand-pulled half-pint. Colour was tangerine and it had a tangerine like flavour and aroma (must add something into the kettle), but it wasn't in the greatest condition, even though it's brewed on the premisses.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe.. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a small off-white head. There’s oranges and floral hops in the aroma. A mix of traditional and floral hops is the mainstay in the mouth, where it is bitter and quite juicy. Flavour has thick cut marmalade with a hint of spices. Ends up with a decidedly dry finish. No a world beater but this is decent.

Cask @ Brew Room, Blackpool. Stronger tasting hoppy brew but its hoppiness is still its dominant characteristic. It’s not particularly flavoursome though.
