Description
Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co. was founded in 2011 by Rassul Zarinfar and Ryan Robertson as an effort to bring Houston the type of beer they both love to drink.
What began with a home-brewer's vision, sprouted to producing & self-distributing only draught in 2012 and all the way to 8,000 barrels produced in kegs, cans and bombers, state wide distribution and 74 total beers in 2018.

Location: Draft at Local Foods, 1/26/14
Aroma: The nose has some sweet malts, bread, booze, and some hops
Appearance: It pours a caramel-red color with a beige head
Flavor: The taste is malty, a little sweet, plenty of booze, and a light bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-full, kind of sticky, with a little heat as well
Overall Impression: I thought this was a decent one, but it was also kind of muddled. Not bad, but also not a favorite for me.

22oz waxed bottle poured. Pours a dark thick reddish amber. Low clarity. Aroma is sweeter and boozier but still has a leafy earthy soil Scottish aroma. Flavor is less sweet and less boozy which is better. Goes great with a slightly thicker mouthful. A nice long soil and bitter brown malts aftertaste.

Location: Draft at Yia Yia Mary's, 1/15/14
Aroma: The nose is caramel and bready malts with some fruity notes and a little earth
Appearance: This one pours a copper-orange color with a small foam of head
Flavor: Balanced, similar to the nose component-wise light-mid sweet and light bitter
Palate: The body is light-medium, drinkable and clean enough, with average-plus carbonation
Overall Impression: This is a drinkable enough ESB. I can see why this works well at non-craftcentric restaurants like this one, as it is a good entry micro, and I mean that as a compliment.
