A golden DIPA with a thin creamy white head. In aroma, sweet caramel and honey with banana esters and light floral hops. In mouth, smooth fruity malt with nice balanced floral hops, silky mouthfeel, nice alcohol warmth, nice hybrid of Belgian and US. On tap at brewery, May 18 2013.

A hazed golden amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, smooth fruity caramel malt with light peaty notes, not bad. In mouth, a smooth peaty malt with light caramel malt, nice and smooth, no cherries. On tap at brewery, May 18 2013.

Tap at the Flying Saucer, Houston, 21/05/13. Lightly hazed copper golden with a thin off white head that retains well. Nose is on the thin side, malt, grass, caramel, paper. Taste comprises toffee, dark malt, sugars, light caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, touch of bitterness in the finish. Mediocre ESB no depth of flavour - a style really best suited to cask.

Bottle at RBWG 2013, thanks to Daniel. Pours clear amber with a light, beige foam head. Huge sweet aroma, doughy and meaty bread. Big sweet flavor, heavy malts, toffee, light leafy bitterness. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sticky sweet finish, semi-dark fruits, light alcohol, some toffee. Decent. Big boned.

On tap at Flying Saucer Beerfeast. Pours a cloudy orange with medium frothy off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong pine and ginger. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet hop and citrus with nice lingering bitter finish. Easy to drink a good IPA from Buffalo Bayou.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a clear orange with a small frothy off white head. The aroma is yeast and floral hops. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet hop and citrus with light dry finish. A good American strong ale from Buffalo Bayou.

On tap at Christmas in July at brewery. Pours a cloudy orange copper with a small off white head. The aroma is yeast, vanilla, and oak. Thin mouthfeel with a strong vanilla malt and light oak with a dry finish. Easy to drink, a very good variant of the 1836.
