Description
It started on Plaza Drive in New Albany, Indiana, with Sportstime Pizza in 1987 (now the NABC Pizzeria), followed by Rich O’s (NABC Public House) in 1990, the incorporation of the New Albanian Brewing Company in 1994 and the launch of the original New Albanian Brewery in 2002 (the first commercial brewery in New Albany since 1935). The Pizzeria & Public House are still going strong.

In New Albania, beer is a way of life. NABC stands for a quarter-century of experience, education, recognition and success. Not only that, but our machines kill fascists, too.

Now more than ever before, we ask: Can your beer do that?

Tap: Nearly black with a small tan head. Smoky, chocolate malt, coffee aroma. Sweet, mild chocolate taste. Very porter-like with a hint of Belgian-ness.... Very good.

tap at Ft Wayne Oktobeerfest 2013 - Pours hazy orange with an off-white head. It has a major bourbon barrel smell. The flavor has the expected high bitterness. The bourbon is much more subdued in the flavor than in the aroma. It’s medium to full bodied and very good.

Bomber from Total Wine in Orlando, FL. Pours translucent copper/amber with minimal head. Smells rather malty. Near full bodied. It’s rather malty and the hops are more floral than anything. Good drink, but clearly not NW style. Works for me.

Bomber courtesy of queenholly. Thanks! Pours near pitch black with a medium sized dark brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, cocoa, smoke, soy, sunflower, very mild dark fruits. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, wood, nutty notes, cocoa, bitter hops. Full bodied, chewy, well balanced. Very nice stout.

22oz bomber, courtesy of shrubber85, pours with a clear ruby red amber body that supports a nearly tight tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a mix of sweet caramel, molasses, crisp ripe red apples, pine hops and some ripe cherry notes. This has a pretty sweet aroma but the molasses to toffee notes takes this to a better place. The taste starts with sweet malts, sweet caramel malts and ripe cherries before pine hops and a dash of roasted malts join in to provide some balance. It gets a touch toffee and molasses like here and there too for adding richness and interest. Pretty nice.

Growler.Caramel malt, vanilla, and sweet orange aroma. Slightly hazed deep amber with a small off-white head. Weird - smells like orange creamsicle. Caramel malt, vanilla, and orange and peel flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Draft. Orange/melon malt and pine/orange peel aroma. Amber with large light tan head. Sweet orange-caramel malt and moderately bitter orange peel/pine flavor. Nice body. Guess Indiana isn’t a bad place to grow hops.

5 oz sample draft at the New Albanian Pizzeria and Public House in New Albany, Indiana. The pour is a darker copper golden with a smallish off white head. The aroma is roast, nuttiness, grass and a bit pine. Nice soft, full, natural nose. The taste has all of the elements of the nose balanced and integrated nicely together. Lightly sweet, nutty, grassy pine, and soft roast to the finish. Fresh, a bunch of character for a mild. The palate has great body, light, easy drinking. Fresh, clean and really tasty. Great mild - highlight of the night.
